# ⛓️ | Arbitrum Guide

History of Arb 🫡

{% hint style="info" %}

## It's important to note that all transaction fees on Arbitrum must be paid in ETH.&#x20;

## <mark style="color:blue;">This means you need ETH in your wallet to be able to use Unlimited Leverage.</mark>

{% endhint %}

<mark style="color:blue;">**Offchain Labs**</mark>, a team of skilled blockchain engineers, researchers, and Ethereum experts, developed Arbitrum as Ethereum's next-generation layer-2 solution. Its main net, Arbitrum One, was launched on August 31, 2021.

<mark style="color:blue;">**Arbitrum**</mark> is a layer-2 solution that enables transactions to be processed off-chain before submitting them as a single transaction to the base layer. This method facilitates Ethereum scaling, as layer-1 Ethereum transactions are not slowed down by an overwhelming amount of transaction requests.

[Follow this link](https://offchainlabs.com/) **to learn more about Arbitrum and the Offchain Labs team behind it.**

<mark style="color:blue;">**Optimistic Rollups**</mark>, which are smart contracts that bundle transactions, are used by Arbitrum as a scaling solution. This results in reduced computation time and gas consumption, ensuring low gas fees while relying on Ethereum's L1 security.

<mark style="color:blue;">**Arbitrum One**</mark> network was successfully migrated to Arbitrum Nitro on August 31, 2022. Prior to this, transaction throughput was throttled to maintain network performance. The upgrade to Nitro removed these limitations, allowing the network to handle significantly more transactions. Nitro has reduced fees by approximately 25%, on top of the up to 95% lower fees compared to the Ethereum main net offered by Arbitrum before the Nitro upgrade.

**Disclaimer**

It is important that anybody who uses Unlimited Leverage understands the various risks associated. By using Unlimited Leverage, you acknowledge and accept the risks involved. Unlimited Leverage will not take any responsibility for funds lost by users of the platform.&#x20;
{% endhint %}

#### Trading Risks

Cryptocurrency trading, like all trading, is not without risk, and you should be aware of these before you take any trading actions.

The primary risk you face is due to rapid price changes in the cryptocurrency markets. While these can be beneficial, particularly when using leverage, they can put you at risk of forced liquidation, should price movement rapidly occur against the direction of your investment strategy.

Liquidation occurs when the price of the asset hits the "Liquidation Price" set when you place your trade. In effect, your initial collateral can be lost. Methods to prevent liquidation during unfavourable market movements are discussed in [Creating a Trade](/start-trading/or-unlimited-leverage-guide/creating-a-trade).

#### Wallet Security

Wallet Security is paramount in the Web3 space, given that the wallet holder is the sole custodian of the assets held in the wallet. Therefore, it is critical that users are careful when navigating the space and are vigilant when interacting with foreign smart contracts or signing transactions, as careless activity can result in funds being exploited.

Remember, when using Unlimited Leverage, you are fully responsible for your assets and funds, and you remain in control of them at all times.&#x20;

#### Smart Contract Risks

Although the Unlimited Leverage smart contracts have been audited, risks of possible exploits always remain.

# Pairs and Collateral

## Pairs

The navbar on the left of the trade screen shows you all the trading pairs currently available, as seen below. :arrow\_heading\_down:

<figure><img src="/files/fDdpz5RGSZCxvreFrvjq" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

After selecting your trading pair, you'll see a graph and key data related to the pricing of that pair. The current price and price change over the last 24 hours are displayed next to the pair.

You'll also see the total sizes of Long and Short positions, along with the 1-hour funding fee for Longs and Shorts.

Below the key data, you'll find a chart that tracks the price of the pairing over a period of your choosing, with additional information such as the 24-hour open, high, low, and close prices.

{% hint style="info" %}
**Please note** that, as cryptocurrencies are peer-to-peer traded, there is no fixed price of assets at any given time. As such, the price you see listed is our internal price based on our calculations from the information drawn from multiple sources by our Oracles

Please see the [🧿 | Oracle System](/protocol/or-oracle-system) section of this document for more information on how this functions.&#x20;
{% endhint %}

## Collateral options :arrow\_heading\_down:

{% tabs %}
{% tab title="USDC" %}
**USDC** is a stablecoin created by [Circle](https://www.circle.com/) where the price is "pegged" to a non-digital asset, in this instance the US Dollar.&#x20;

This means its relative value will stay as 1 USDC = $1 in normal circumstances, with very minor fluctuations.&#x20;

[To find out more about USDC please visit this link.](https://www.circle.com/en/usdc)
{% endtab %}

{% tab title="DAI - Coming Soon" %}
**DAI** is a stablecoin created by Maker Foundation and maintained by MakerDAO, pegged to the price of the US Dollar.

This means its relative value will stay as 1 DAI = $1 in normal circumstances, with very minor fluctuations.&#x20;

[To find out more about DAI please visit this link.](https://makerdao.com)
{% endtab %}

{% tab title="BTC - Coming Soon" %}
**BTC** represents bitcoin, the currency of the Bitcoin network.

As the original and longest running cryptocurrency, it is often considered one of the "safer" investments in the space but is still highly volatile and subject to major price changes both short and long-term.

[For more information on Bitcoin please visit this link. ](https://bitcoin.org/en/)
{% endtab %}

{% tab title="ETH - Coming Soon" %}
**ETH** represents Ether, the native currency of the Ethereum Virtual Machine network.

Launched in July 2015 it was designed to create an alternative option of decentralised computing compared to Bitcoin's decentralised currency.

Ethereum's "Ether" is the second most popular cryptocurrency, sitting behind Bitcoin, and is a fully public and open platform.

Prior to using Unlimited Leverage, please make sure to read and understand the risks involved[ here](/start-trading/or-unlimited-leverage-guide/know-your-risks)[.](/start-trading/or-unlimited-leverage-guide/know-your-risks)&#x20;
{% endhint %}

**To start trading with Unlimited Leverage, use the trading panel on the right side of the screen. Simply choose your preferred options and settings.**&#x20;

**This panel can be seen below:** :arrow\_heading\_down:

<figure><img src="/files/Vl4AbGIIJKsRBxsOzVE1" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

**Once you have input the desired collateral and adjusted the leverage slider, simply click the confirm button, sign with your web3 wallet and your position will appear under** [**"Positions."**](/start-trading/or-unlimited-leverage-guide/positions)

# Long

When opening a **Long** position on Unlimited Leverage, you simulate the <mark style="color:blue;">**purchase**</mark> of the selected cryptocurrency with the expectation that its value <mark style="color:blue;">**will increase.**</mark> **To close the position, you simulate the sale of the same asset.**

<figure><img src="/files/UKc4DrO8GGjQQ5vt5glm" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

**Long** positions are profitable when the <mark style="color:blue;">**Mark Price**</mark> of the asset is greater than the <mark style="color:blue;">**Entry Price**</mark>.

# Short

When you open a **Short** position on Unlimited Leverage, you're simulating the <mark style="color:blue;">**borrowing**</mark> of an asset and <mark style="color:blue;">**selling it**</mark> at the current price (<mark style="color:blue;">**Entry Price**</mark>). Later, when you close the position, you're simulating the <mark style="color:blue;">**buy-back**</mark> of the same amount of the traded asset at a new price (<mark style="color:blue;">**Mark Price**</mark>) to <mark style="color:blue;">**return**</mark> to the lender.

**If you can buy it back for less than what you sold it for, you make a profit.**

<figure><img src="/files/XZX3QEpBEpVYrZb1GG84" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

**Short** positions are profitable when the <mark style="color:blue;">**Mark Price**</mark> of the asset is lesser than the <mark style="color:blue;">**Entry Price**</mark>.

# Market

**Market** orders are those done at the <mark style="color:blue;">**best available current price**</mark>.&#x20;

{% hint style="warning" %}
**Please note** that by performing a "**Market**" trade, <mark style="color:blue;">**your order will be subject to market conditions**</mark> and they can fluctuate considerably in a short space of time.&#x20;
{% endhint %}

<figure><img src="/files/UKc4DrO8GGjQQ5vt5glm" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

# Limit

**Limit** orders are a type of order that allows you to <mark style="color:blue;">**specify a fixed price at which you want to open a Long or Short position**</mark>. This is an alternative to [Market](/start-trading/or-unlimited-leverage-guide/creating-a-trade/market)orders.&#x20;

<figure><img src="/files/5XIGMMFS8k8Jn35lRAuE" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

**Limit orders give you more precise control over the price points of your trades, but they may take longer to complete than market orders because they wait for a specific price to become available.**

{% hint style="info" %} <mark style="color:blue;">**Glossary for the image above:**</mark> :arrow\_heading\_down:

**Limit Order** **-** This is the price level at which your order will be executed if the asset you are trading reaches it.

**Order Expiry -** You can set an expiration date for your order using the "Order Expiry" tab. This will automatically cancel the order if it hasn't been filled by the specified date.
{% endhint %}

{% hint style="info" %}
When using **Limit Orders**, users are encouraged to keep an eye on the "**Orders**" tab (see [Orders](/start-trading/or-unlimited-leverage-guide/orders)) if there are pending orders they no longer wish to proceed with due to changing market conditions. \
\
**You can cancel an order that hasn't been filled at any moment.**
{% endhint %}

# Collateral

**Collateral** is the initial <mark style="color:blue;">**amount of money**</mark> you put in the leveraged trade, which is the <mark style="color:blue;">**maximum amount**</mark> you can potentially lose if the trade goes against your expectations.

<figure><img src="/files/ew6LtGnfWGq5669DCGTM" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

You can <mark style="color:blue;">**choose to enter**</mark> your collateral in USD or as a percentage of your <mark style="color:blue;">**total wallet balance**</mark> using the <mark style="color:blue;">**buttons below**</mark>: **25%, 50%, 75%, or 100%.**

# Leverage

{% hint style="warning" %}
**Please note** that higher leverage comes with <mark style="color:blue;">**an increased risk of liquidation**</mark> and a shorter movement from the entry price before that happens.&#x20;
{% endhint %}

**Leverage** is the amount of <mark style="color:blue;">**additional asset value**</mark> you can place into your trade through the Unlimited Leverage Platform.&#x20;

<figure><img src="/files/PoseYBDqqkdw4CJryC7G" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

With our platform, you can amplify your trades <mark style="color:blue;">**up to 100 times**</mark> your collateral. For example, with $1000 collateral, you can place trades <mark style="color:blue;">**up to $100,000 in value.**</mark>

**The slider acts as a multiplier for your** [Collateral](/start-trading/or-unlimited-leverage-guide/creating-a-trade/collateral) **figure.**

# Figures for Approval

**At the bottom** of the trading screen, you can view <mark style="color:blue;">**important information**</mark> related to your trade setup. These figures include your selected <mark style="color:blue;">**trading pair, collateral amount, leverage amount,**</mark> and any <mark style="color:blue;">**open positions**</mark> you may have.

<figure><img src="/files/jVyUSS5vn5iN3p1U7cVN" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

{% hint style="info" %} <mark style="color:blue;">**Glossary for the image above:**</mark> :arrow\_heading\_down:\
**Size:** This refers to the total position value of the trade.

**Leverage:** This is the amount of leverage applied to the trade.&#x20;

**Entry Price:** This is the current price at which the cryptocurrency is being traded in the market.

**Liq. Price:** This is the price at which your trade will automatically close due to liquidation.

**Entry Price**: This is the USD value of the cryptocurrency at the time you opened the trade.

**Mark Price**: This is the current USD value of the cryptocurrency you are trading.

**Liq. Price**: This is the price at which your trade will be automatically closed or "liquidated."

**TP/SL**: These are the "Take Profit" and "Stop Loss" prices you can set, which automatically close your trade when reached. They are the prices above and below your entry price, respectively. You can also edit them at any time after opening a position.

**PnL**: This figure shows whether your trade is currently in profit (green) or at a loss (red) and how much that profit or loss is.
{% endhint %}

# Edit Position

This option brings up the following screen and allows you to <mark style="color:blue;">**alter your position**</mark> while the trade is still active. According to your input, any changes that will occur to your position are displayed on the info box below. "**Mark price**" shows the current live normalised "mark" price of the asset. Under "**Size**", "**Collateral**", "**Liq. Price**", and "**Leverage**" you will see the values of the position as it currently stands, with the arrows indicating the <mark style="color:blue;">**new adjusted values**</mark>. \
\
Once you are happy with the new values, click on "Approve" to update your position. Alternatively, to close the screen without making changes, click the "x" in the top right hand corner. &#x20;

<figure><img src="/files/6SmZcFXAQKn1S70foaM4" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

This option allows you to increase your current leverage, without having to deposit more collateral. As seen on the image above, this will also affect your position's **Size**, **Entry Price** & **Liquidation Price**. It will also incur a small amount of fees, based on the new **Size**.

<div><figure><img src="/files/tPP1ywLqDTmKycorQj0G" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure> <figure><img src="/files/UmE1d0ZhwsnwpO3Cyj4a" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure></div>

By changing the <mark style="color:blue;">**collateral amount**</mark> you can alter your **Leverage**, your **Liquidation Price** and the **Size** of your position. Use the percentage buttons or type in a value to select the amount of collateral you wish to add (through "Deposit") from your available funds, or remove (through "Withdraw").

<figure><img src="/files/dqOkgo7qjspCuaAJuP2D" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

If you wish to increase the **Size** of your position (through "Size"), you must also set the new leverage through the leverage slider or by clicking on the current value and typing the new value.

# Take Profit / Stop Loss

Adding a **Take Profit** or a **Stop Loss** order in your position can ensure that you won't be overexposed to sudden price action and fluctuations of the market.\
\
**Take Profit allows you to set the price that when reached, your position will automatically close and collect the profit you have accumulated.**&#x20;

<figure><img src="/files/hGzi4Fwi0Kx1AQjDtc69" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

Clicking one of the percentage buttons will instantly calculate the price for the corresponding PnL percentage. In this example, to automatically close the position with <mark style="color:green;">50% percent profit</mark> (or $4,761.77) BTC must reach the price of $30,544.00.

**On the contrary, Stop Loss indicates the price where the position automatically closes in order to cut losses on your current profits or to stop your loses from accumulating any further.**

<figure><img src="/files/340YjbAyhZJPm1O57DOE" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

In a similar manner, the percentage buttons allow you to select the <mark style="color:red;">% of loss</mark> where your position will close automatically. In this case 25% loss of the initial collateral equals to $2,386.94, while these losses will have been accumulated when BTC reaches the price of $30,090.50.

**If you wish to alter your current Take Profit and/or Stop Loss orders, you must first cancel the previous one.**

<figure><img src="/files/b6FWnG3zvlYgfU46O3PI" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

# Close Position

**Selecting "Close position" will show you the following screen, allowing you to close your trade at the current or a limit price.**

<figure><img src="/files/3OmQzRZ67r40NODTmjOC" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

{% hint style="info" %} <mark style="color:blue;">**Glossary for the image above:**</mark> :arrow\_heading\_down:

To close your position, you can choose to sell at the current market price or set a specific limit price. You can also select to close your full position or a <mark style="color:blue;">portion of it</mark> by choosing the percentage options.

To close the position based on your selection, use the <mark style="color:blue;">"Confirm"</mark> button at the bottom.&#x20;

If you want to cancel and return to the previous screen, use the <mark style="color:blue;">"X"</mark> button at the top right.
{% endhint %}

# Backup RPC URLs

Since <mark style="color:blue;">**Unlimited Leverage**</mark> is a decentralized exchange, querying of data and submitting of transactions go through an RPC URL.&#x20;

There may be times when the RPC URL is not as responsive as it should be, during these times you may notice data being slow to load or not loading on your page. It is also possible to hit the rate limit with the public Arbitrum RPC URL (<https://arb1.arbitrum.io/rpc>), which would result in 429 errors.

To continue using the platform during these times you can use a backup URL from [Alchemy](https://www.alchemy.com/), [Ankr](https://www.ankr.com/protocol/public/) or [QuickNode](https://www.quicknode.com/chains/arb), switch the RPC URL in the network settings of your wallet and the page should load faster after.

For a list of RPC URLs and their statuses see: <https://chainlist.org/>.

# 🧬 | Fundamentals

## What is Unlimited Leverage?

<figure><img src="/files/0a1WnhsMNZ31KHHvERoS" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

> **Unlimited Leverage** is an on-chain leverage trading platform that offers <mark style="color:blue;">**gasless, synthetic trading with zero price impact, minimal slippage, and up to 100x leverage**</mark>.&#x20;

***Woah - that's a lot of big words. What does that all mean?***

### Gasless Trading

To achieve gasless trading, we developed our own custom price feed and order book, that secures the protocol from front-running and other bots, while ensuring traders get the most accurate pricing. With this setup, traders simply need to send 1 transaction to inform the protocol of your stablecoin allowance, after which they are able to trade simply by signing messages ($0 cost).

{% hint style="info" %}
**Example:**\
\
Pepe Jr. wants to 100x long Bitcoin on Unlimited Leverage with 1,000 USDC because he heard it's going to $1M in 90 days. After placing his trade parameters, he needs to approve the 1,000 USDC spend amount (which costs gas), but once approved, he can trade that amount of USDC freely without paying any gas costs (simply sign transactions).\
\
However, if he now wants to trade 10,000 USDC because he convinced his family that they need to get in on this "once in a lifetime, guaranteed trade", then he'll need to approve another USDC spend allowance (10,000 USDC), resulting in another on-chain transaction (costing gas).
{% endhint %}

### Synthetic Trading

Synthetic trading implies that you are not handling the actual assets or trading/transferring tokens on-chain. Instead, tokens are price-matched allowing us to offer a trading service without the slippage or price impact normally seen in relatively illiquid on-chain crypto markets.

{% hint style="info" %}
**Example:**\
\
Pepe Jr. is tired of seeing Sergey dump their LINK tokens. So, he thinks "well, if you can't beat 'em, join 'em" and decides he's going to 100x short LINK. Because Unlimited Leverage offers synthetic trading, neither Pepe Jr., nor Unlimited Leverage need to own any LINK for the trade. Instead, the protocol uses a price feed and custom order book to allow Pepe Jr. to short LINK with all his USDC, and likely end up shorting the global bottom.
{% endhint %}

### Zero Price Impact

Because the tokens on Unlimited Leverage are synthetically traded and the price is determined by a pricing oracle, trade size on Unlimited Leverage will not impact the pricing - hence 0 price impact.

{% hint style="info" %}
**Example:**\
\
Pepe Jr. opens a $100 long on BTC and a $100,000 long on ETH. Neither trade will affect their respective prices, because the pricing is purely determined on the price feed provided by the oracles, and not based on trade size occurring on Unlimited Leverage.
{% endhint %}

### Minimal Slippage

In the case of Unlimited Leverage, price slippage occurs when there is a difference between the current price (provided by the price oracle) and the price when the user's transaction confirms. Because of the protocol design, slippage due to frontrunning and other bots is eliminated, drastically reducing the potential slippage.

### Up to 100x Leverage

On Unlimited Leverage, we allow you to trade with up to 100x leverage on all assets that are available. Leverage trading allows you to amplify your buying or selling power, which can result in increased potential profits. However, leverage trading can be extremely risky, and as such, it is highly recommended to [learn more about leverage trading](https://academy.binance.com/en/articles/what-is-leverage-in-crypto-trading) prior to using it.

# Assets

At the launch of <mark style="color:blue;">**Unlimited Leverage**</mark>, the following assets will be made available for trading:

* <mark style="color:blue;">**Bluechip Pool**</mark> - BTC, ETH
* <mark style="color:blue;">**Altcoin Pool**</mark> - XRP, ADA, MATIC, DOT, ARB
* <mark style="color:blue;">**Degen Pool**</mark> - DOGE, UNI, APE, LINK

Assets can be added / removed from the platform through **Governance voting**.

**All of these assets** can be traded with up to <mark style="color:blue;">**100x leverage**</mark>.

# Trade Size

In order to ensure <mark style="color:blue;">**maximum capital efficiency**</mark>, in other words, protect pools from being drained while allowing for large enough position sizes and potential earnings, **limits** are applied on the open interest and max PnL.

These limits depend on the **current TVL of the pools** and can be adjusted accordingly by the team to ensure the capital efficiency.

{% hint style="info" %}
**Example**

\
Consider the following conditions:

* $10M TVL on the platform
* 10% open interest limit, resulting in $1M limit for both LONG and SHORT
* Currently $100k LONG open interest and $200k SHORT open interest<br>

This means a user could open a LONG position of up to $900k and a SHORT position of up to $800k.
{% endhint %}

# Fees

### Trading (Open & Close) Fees

Open and close fees on Unlimited Leverage are dynamically calculated depending on <mark style="color:blue;">**your monthly trading volume**</mark> (for open and increase position size). As your volume increases, the fees decrease, so with continued usage, you pay less for each trade.

<table><thead><tr><th width="125" align="center">Tier</th><th width="350" align="center">30 Day Volume</th><th align="center">Fee (open &#x26; close)</th></tr></thead><tbody><tr><td align="center">0</td><td align="center">&#x3C; $1,000,000</td><td align="center">0.07% &#x26; 0.07% </td></tr><tr><td align="center">1</td><td align="center"><strong>≥</strong> $1,000,000</td><td align="center">0.06% &#x26; 0.06%</td></tr><tr><td align="center">2</td><td align="center"><strong>≥</strong> $5,000,000</td><td align="center">0.05% &#x26; 0.05%</td></tr><tr><td align="center">3</td><td align="center"><strong>≥</strong> $10,000,000</td><td align="center">0.04% &#x26; 0.04%</td></tr><tr><td align="center">4</td><td align="center"><strong>≥</strong> $25,000,000</td><td align="center">0.03% &#x26; 0.03%</td></tr><tr><td align="center">5</td><td align="center"><strong>≥</strong> $100,000,000</td><td align="center">0.02% &#x26; 0.02%</td></tr><tr><td align="center">VIP</td><td align="center"><strong>≥</strong> $1,000,000,000</td><td align="center">0.01% &#x26; 0.01%</td></tr></tbody></table>

#### <mark style="color:blue;">**Fees Distribution**</mark>

1. Supply: <mark style="color:blue;">70%</mark> - To facilitate innovation behind the orderbook / gaslesss trading model.

<mark style="color:blue;">60%</mark> - Liquidity Providers

<mark style="color:blue;">10%</mark> - Execution Fund

2. Protocol: <mark style="color:blue;">30%</mark> - To facilitate early stage growth in the protocol and encourage a wave of skilled, enthusiastic community contributors to accelerate product iterations and wider ecosystem and community growth.

<mark style="color:blue;">18%</mark> - $UWU stakers

<mark style="color:blue;">12%</mark> - Contributor Fund

Overtime this 12% will be reduced and UWU stakers will receive the full 30% fees that are directed to the protocol.

### Funding Fees

Funding fees are a common feature on trading platforms, designed in order to **incentivize traders to take the less populated (by open interest) side of a trade**. In other words, if **Longs > Shorts in open interest**, then longs will pay shorts a funding fee. That same is true vice versa. This **encourages&#x20;**<mark style="color:blue;">**healthy market participation**</mark> which drives volume.

Funding fees are paid **every block and are pro rata to the position size**.

### Borrow Fees

A Borrow fee is another common fee applied to trading platforms, and is **applied to all open positions**. This fee is implemented to <mark style="color:blue;">**cover the cost of upkeep of the position**</mark>, and is deducted from the collateral **every block**.

Initially, **Unlimited Leverage will set the&#x20;**<mark style="color:blue;">**Borrow Fee to 0%**</mark>, and will adjust the value depending on the LP Performance. \
\
LPs receive **100%** of the **borrow fees**.

# Liquidation

Once a trade reaches the liquidation price, the liquidation engine marks the position as liquidate-able (onchain) and liquidators attempt to close the positions. As per protocol design, **liquidations incur&#x20;**<mark style="color:blue;">**no price impact**</mark>**, thereby minimizing potential losses**.

Liquidations <mark style="color:blue;">**incur a fixed fee**</mark> that is **always slightly above gas fees** in order to <mark style="color:blue;">**incentivize liquidators**</mark> closing overextended positions. At a future stage, additional incentives may be introduced to attract external liquidators and increase the robustness of the liquidation engine.

# 🌊 | Liquidity Pools

Liquidity Pools are collections of tokens which have been <mark style="color:blue;">**locked by smart contracts**</mark> at the request of their holders.

On Unlimited Leverage, liquidity pools are used in a **trustless bankroll model**, rather than to provide trade liquidity. **This means**:

* Pools <mark style="color:blue;">**earn a percentage**</mark> of the fees accrued
* Pools are used to <mark style="color:blue;">**pay out the profits**</mark> of profitable trades

This is a well-established model within both the DeFi and cryptocurrency gambling ecosystems.&#x20;

As a result, the amount you earn as a liquidity provider is **based on the fees earned** <mark style="color:blue;">**combined**</mark> with **the overall profit & loss of the traders** using the relevant trading pair.&#x20;

### For more <mark style="color:blue;">information</mark> see:

{% content-ref url="/pages/yOyAfHXX2Y66FFgfmJ0i" %}

{% endcontent-ref %}

{% content-ref url="/pages/iBmMmIx4hJx8t8HBv5gk" %}
[Lock-up Periods](/protocol/or-liquidity-pools/lock-up-periods)
{% endcontent-ref %}

{% hint style="info" %}
**Please note**, providing liquidity can entail a risk of unrealised loss in assets if trader profitability exceeds the fees earned by a pool. &#x20;
{% endhint %}

# Pools

## Unlimited Leverage uses an innovative <mark style="color:blue;">tri-pool</mark> model

The tokens available for trading are separated into the 3 pools based on their **market cap (MC) and volatility**.

This provides **additional security** as it reduces the **overall exposure** of pools in case of an external attack or an ecosystem-wide "Black Swan" event.

{% hint style="info" %}
**For example:**\
\
Pepe Jr. decides he wants to be more risk averse after blowing up his last trade and **only** deposits funds into the **Bluechip Pool**. As such, his funds can **only** be used to pay out profitable traders which are trading the assets in the Bluechip Pool (BTC and ETH).\
\
So, if a gigachad longs $DOGE at the picobottom and prints a 1000% winning trade, Pepe Jr.'s deposit is **NOT** used to payout that trader, and instead the LPs of the Degen Pool will pay the gigachad out.

#### Currently, Unlimited Leverage operates the following **3 USDC pools:**&#x20;

<mark style="color:blue;">**Bluechip Pool:**</mark> This pool is exposed to the trades of the "safest" assets, namely those with the highest MC and lowest expected volatility.

<mark style="color:blue;">**Altcoin Pool:**</mark> This pool is exposed to the trades of medium-risk assets with an MC and volatility to match. On top of this, it is fully exposed to the pool above it, the <mark style="color:blue;">**Bluechip Pool**</mark> and its asset&#x73;**.**

<mark style="color:blue;">**Degen Pool:**</mark> This pool is exposed to the trades of the highest-risk assets, where MC is lower, and price volatility can be more extreme in either direction. Similarly, it is fully exposed to both the pools above it, the <mark style="color:blue;">**Altcoin**</mark> and <mark style="color:blue;">**Bluechip Pools**</mark> (as well as their assets).&#x20;

{% hint style="info" %}
Assets can be moved between pools if governance votes for it. \
\
For example, <mark style="color:blue;">**$DOGE**</mark> may initially be an asset in the <mark style="color:blue;">**Degen Pool**</mark>, but it could become an <mark style="color:blue;">**Altcoin Pool**</mark> asset if governance votes for it.

## How Pool Exposure works

#### Example 1 - A user makes a <mark style="color:blue;">**$BTC**</mark> Trade

As shown in the table above, all 3 pools are exposed to <mark style="color:blue;">**$BTC**</mark>. \
\
If the trade is profitable, the winnings are paid out with funds from <mark style="color:blue;">**all 3 liquidity pools**</mark>, pro rata - this means that the bigger the size of the LP, the greater the percentage by which it participates in the earnings' pay out.\
\
Conversely, if the trade is losing, <mark style="color:blue;">**all 3 liquidity pools**</mark> receive the trader's collateral, pro rata - again this means that the bigger the size of the LP, the more it will earn.

{% hint style="info" %}
**Example:**&#x20;

Pepe decides to trade **Bitcoin (**<mark style="color:blue;">**$BTC**</mark>) and goes for a 10x leverage Long with his $1,000 USDC. This means he's effectively trading with $10,000.

The market is bullish on BTC, and it pumps by 10%. With his 10x leverage, Pepe's profit is 100% of his initial capital, which is $1,000.

Opening Fee: 0.07% of $10,000 = $7 \
Closing Fee: 0.07% of ($10,000 + $1,000 profit) = $7.70\
Total Fees: $7 + $7.70 = $14.70

After deducting the fees, Pepe's net profit (*excluding funding rate*) is $985.30 ($1,000 - $14.70) which is paid out from <mark style="color:blue;">**all three liquidity pools**</mark> (**Bluechip, Altcoin, and Degen**) pro rata.
{% endhint %}

#### Example 2 - A user makes an <mark style="color:blue;">**$XRP**</mark> Trade

As shown in the table above, 2 pools are exposed to <mark style="color:blue;">**$XRP**</mark> -  the <mark style="color:blue;">**Altcoin Pool**</mark> & the <mark style="color:blue;">**Degen Pool**</mark>.\
\
If the trade is profitable, the winnings are paid out with funds from the <mark style="color:blue;">**Altcoin Pool**</mark> & the <mark style="color:blue;">**Degen Pool**</mark> pro rata - this means that the bigger the size of the LP, the greater the percentage by which it participates in the earnings' pay out.\
\
Conversely, if the trade is losing, the <mark style="color:blue;">**Altcoin Pool**</mark> & the <mark style="color:blue;">**Degen Pool**</mark> receive the trader's collateral, pro rata - again this means that the bigger the size of the LP, the more it will earn.

Since the <mark style="color:blue;">**Bluechip Pool**</mark> isn't exposed to <mark style="color:blue;">**$XRP**</mark>, **its funds will not be affected by the trade**.

{% hint style="info" %}
**Example:**&#x20;

Pepe tries his luck with **Ripple (**<mark style="color:blue;">**$XRP**</mark>) and goes for a 50x leverage Long with his $1,000 USDC, meaning he's trading with $50,000.

The market is bearish on XRP, and it dumps by 1%. With his 50x leverage, Pepe's losses are 50% of his initial capital, which is $500.

Opening Fee: 0.07% of $50,000 = $35 \
Closing Fee: 0.07% of ($50,000 - $500 loss) = $34.65\
Total Fees: $35 + $34.65 = $69.65

After adding the fees, Pepe's net loss (*excluding funding fees*) is $569.65 ($500 + $69.65) which is paid out to the <mark style="color:blue;">**Altcoin Pool**</mark> and <mark style="color:blue;">**Degen Pool**</mark> pro rata, since only these two pools are exposed to <mark style="color:blue;">**$XRP**</mark>.
{% endhint %}

#### Example 3 - A user makes a <mark style="color:blue;">**$DOGE**</mark> Trade

As shown in the table above, only 1 pool is exposed to <mark style="color:blue;">**$DOGE**</mark> - the <mark style="color:blue;">**Degen Pool**</mark>.\
\
If the trade is profitable, the winnings are paid out with funds only from the <mark style="color:blue;">**Degen Pool.**</mark>\
\
Conversely, if the trade is losing, only the <mark style="color:blue;">**Degen Pool**</mark> will receive the trader's collateral.

Since the <mark style="color:blue;">**Bluechip Pool**</mark> & the <mark style="color:blue;">**Altcoin Pool**</mark> aren't exposed to <mark style="color:blue;">**$DOGE**</mark>, **their funds will not be affected by the trade**.

{% hint style="info" %}
**Example:**&#x20;

Pepe goes all out with a 100x leverage Long with his $100 USDC to trade **Dogecoin** (<mark style="color:blue;">**$DOGE**</mark>), effectively trading with $10,000.

DOGE, being the meme coin favorite, rockets by 20%. With his 100x leverage, Pepe's profit is 2000% of his initial capital, which is $2000.

Opening Fee: 0.07% of $10,000 = $7\
Closing Fee: 0.07% of ($10,000 + $2000 profit) = $8.4\
Total Fees: $7 + 8.4 = $15.4

After deducting the fees, Pepe's net profit (*excluding funding fees*) is $1984.6 ($2000 - $15.4) and comes solely from the <mark style="color:blue;">**Degen Pool,**</mark> while the <mark style="color:blue;">**Bluechip**</mark> and <mark style="color:blue;">**Altcoin**</mark> <mark style="color:blue;">**Pools**</mark> remain untouched by this <mark style="color:blue;">**$DOGE**</mark> trade.
{% endhint %}

# Lock-up Periods

When depositing funds into pools, **users have the option of choosing**:

1. **No lock-up** period (except for an initial 6 hour lock)
2. **Specific lock-up** periods (30,60,90 days)

Lock-up periods are <mark style="color:blue;">**incentivized**</mark> with a reward multiplier, as follows:

* **30 days** applies a <mark style="color:blue;">**1.25x**</mark> multiplier
* **60 days** applies <mark style="color:blue;">**1.5x**</mark> multiplier
* **90 days** applies <mark style="color:blue;">**2x**</mark> multiplier

<figure><img src="/files/I7TUJuiaK2PUc7zWoT0N" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

#### Additional Information

* If you have not selected a lock-up period, and wish to withdraw deposited funds within the first 3 days of depositing, a **0.3% fee will apply.**
* Each deposit you place has its own release date from the time you place that specific deposit. For example, when using a **30-day lock-up period**, if you place a deposit on **day 1** and another on **day 10**, the first deposit would unlock after **day 30** and the second after **day 40**.

# 🧿 | Oracle System

In order to provide up-to-date, accurate, and safe price information to the Unlimited Leverage platform, a <mark style="color:blue;">**system of Oracles and smart contracts**</mark> is utilized to ensure the information you see is accurate and not subject to deliberate external manipulation.

The oracle system functions by gathering data from **two separate Oracle sources**:

1. The <mark style="color:blue;">**primary and preferred**</mark> data source consists of an offchain <mark style="color:blue;">**bespoke pricing oracle**</mark> created for Unlimited Leverage. This system aggregates trade pair prices from various exchanges in order to determine an average pricing.
2. The second data source is taken from [Chainlink](https://chain.link/), a well-established and trusted provider of oracle data in the ecosystem.

The oracle system then compares the prices taken from Chainlink against the primary bespoke data, and if prices fall outside the accepted deviation parameter, then the transaction will revert.
